January Chapter Meeting

January 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Weminuche Audubon Society invites everyone to join us for our monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 21 st at the Community United Methodist Church, 434 Lewis Street. The January program on Birds and Energy will be presented by Martin Ogle, who has been a naturalist and energy educator for over 40 years. Birds are full of energy—literally and figuratively! With the highest body temperatures of all animals, remarkable adaptations, and awe-inspiring migrations, they have much to teach us about energy. Martin will provide a fascinating exploration of avian life through the lens of energy . . . and vice versa!  Discover how the National Audubon Society is connecting energy, birds, climate change and other concerns of our day.  Learn also about the myriad of energy-related adaptations exhibited by birds and new ways we are lessening the impact of human energy systems on birds. To learn more about Martin’s work, visit his website, describing the non-profit he recently created called Geo
sapiens, at  https://www.geosapiens.org/

Meeting attendees are asked to enter through the entrance off of the parking lot on the east side of the church building. Doors will open at 6:00 pm for a time of socializing, with the formal program beginning at 6:30 pm. Donations of non-perishable
food items to support the CUMC food bank are encouraged and greatly appreciated. This presentation will also be available on-line. If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, use the following link to join on Zoom.
