SUMMARY:August Chapter Meeting-Focus on Water
DESCRIPTION:Our August meeting will address the question\, where does our water come from?  Most of us turn on a faucet and there it is.  We don’t stop to wonder just how it got there and think about the stops along the way.\nWe are fortunate to have Josh Kurz agree to speak at our August meeting and trace the water that is our lifeblood to its watershed sources.  He has created an easy to understand diagram to help us visualize the journey that water takes to our homes.\nKurz will additionally challenge us to think about the importance of all of the other demands on our local water supply on top of our municipal uses. Will future demand for water exceed current supply?\nKurz is an educator passionate about water.  Prior to entering the teaching profession\, he worked for 4 years as an hydrologist.  He currently teaches science at Pagosa Springs High School.\nThe public is invited to join us for this educational presentation at our meeting on Wednesday\, August 16\, at the Community United Methodist Church on Lewis St. Enter through the side door close to the parking lot.  Let us know and we can open the main door for handicap entry.  Arrive at 6:00 PM for snacks and socializing before the meeting starts at 6:30.  A donation of non-perishable food for the church food bank\, in appreciation for our meeting space\, is appreciated.  Foods that don’t require cooking like peanut-butter are especially requested. \nUse the following link to join the meeting on Zoom \nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/j/82000593178?pwd=N3NXMUs5U2o1SkFlTjlNaXZMSjhsZz09 \nMeeting ID: 820 0059 3178\nPasscode: 711849 \n— \nOne tap mobile\n+17193594580\,\,82000593178#\,\,\,\,*711849# US\n+13462487799\,\,82000593178#\,\,\,\,*711849# US (Houston) \n— \nDial by your location\n• +1 719 359 4580 US\n• +1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)\n• +1 669 444 9171 US\n• +1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)\n• +1 253 205 0468 US\n• +1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma)\n• +1 309 205 3325 US\n• +1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)\n• +1 360 209 5623 US\n• +1 386 347 5053 US\n• +1 507 473 4847 US\n• +1 564 217 2000 US\n• +1 646 931 3860 US\n• +1 689 278 1000 US\n• +1 929 205 6099 US (New York)\n• +1 301 715 8592 US (Washington DC)\n• +1 305 224 1968 US \nMeeting ID: 820 0059 3178\nPasscode: 711849 \nFind your local number: https://us06web.zoom.us/u/kdMAmI6ZZV
