SUMMARY:Plant Walk - Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Ponderosa Ecozone
DESCRIPTION:Join certified herbalist Lake McCullough for a fun and educational ramble through the forest\, as we discover edible and medicinal native plants. The walks are free of charge! Offered in partnership with Audubon Rockies and the Weminuche Audubon Society. \nIn order to handle increased popularity and demand for information about our local ecosystems\, we will be conducting two back-to-back plant walks at each location. The first tour will begin at 9:30 and run until 11:15. The second tour will begin at 11:30 and go until 1:15. There is a 15-person maximum on each walk. Walks are about 1.5 miles roundtrip. Please be prepared for rugged trails and unpredictable weather\, and leave dogs at home. \nFirst Tour: 9:30 to 11:15 \nSecond Tour: 11:30 to 1:15 \nMeet at Fourmile Ranch at the north end of Snowball Road (County Road 200). From Highway 160 downtown\, turn onto 2nd Street\, which becomes CR 200. Drive about 4 miles out this road\, until you come to a white metal gate marking Fourmile Ranch\, which arches over the road. Continue past this gate for less than half a mile\, until you come to a barn complex on the left. Parking is located just past the barn\, in the grass on the left of the road. We will meet here and begin the walk. Please be aware that this is private property\, and treat the area with courtesy. \nCall Lake at 970-398-0923 or stop by and see her at Earthsense Herbals at 114 Pagosa St. to sign up.  These popular walks book up fast.
