We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, December 19, when we head out in teams to count birds in our Pagosa Springs Circle.  You don’t have to be an expert to participate and join a team to help us count all the birds that we identify on count day. Our 15 mile diameter count circle, centered in town and branching out in all directions, is divided into 8 zones.  If you live within one of the count zones, you can also participate by counting birds at your home feeders.

This is the 127th year of this annual census of birds done by people just like you.  Data generated from the count is an important scientific tool used in understanding and predicting how birds respond to changes in our environment.
