November Meeting/Waterfowl Identification

November 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

November already, and our thoughts are turning to the annual Christmas Bird Count in December.  Will we be wearing parkas or shorts this year when we’re out tallying all the birds we identify in our count circle?  To dust off our skills and get us ready to count birds, Keith Bruno, Audubon Rockies Community Naturalist, will lead us in three classes in winter bird identification.
The November class  will focus on waterfowl.  Area lakes are currently hosting these birds and providing opportunities to test our identification skills while lakes are still thawed. Additional classes covering songbirds ( December 9) and raptors (December 16) will be held. Everyone is welcome to join us in these fun classes and audience participation is encouraged.
The public is invited to join us at the Methodist Church on Lewis St on Wednesday, November 18. We are a welcoming group and always look forward to meeting new people, both those who live here and those passing through. The meeting will begin promptly at 6:00 PM and finish by 8:00.  Come anytime after 5:30 PM to socialize with appetizers and snacks before the meeting starts. Please note the earlier start time for this meeting. Please enter through the side door off the parking lot or let us know to open the main door for handicap entrance.  In appreciation for our meeting space, we welcome donations of non-perishable food for the church food bank. For those unable to attend in person, a link to join the meeting on Zoom will be posted here prior to the meeting.
